Jean-Marie Cottet won five "First Prizes" in the Paris Conservatoire National Superieur "CNSM".
After studies in Lyon and Geneva, Jean-Marie Cottet won five "First Prizes" in the Paris Conservatoire National Superieur "CNSM". Then he was laureate in numerous international piano competitions: Jaen (Spain), Cleveland (USA), Milano Dino Ciani (Italy), finalist in Clara Haskil (Switzerland).
His concert career takes him all around Europe, USA, Japan, Korea, China, Taiwan and Middle-East.
As a chamber musician he performs with the Ensembles "Court-Circuit" and "Alternance". Jean-Marie also playing regularly with Gerard Poulet, Dong-Suk Kang (violin) Pierre-Henri Xuereb (viola) Philippe Muller, Alexis Descharmes (cello) Philippe Bernold, Anne-Cecile Cuniot (flute) Emma Johnson, Nicolas Baldeyrou, Michel Arrignon (clarinet) and Jean Geoffroy (percussion).
Jean-Marie Cottet is an tenured professor at Paris CRR and is invited to perform every summer at academy/festivals in Nice and Courchevel (France). He also gives masterclasses abroad (Japan, Korea, Taiwan...).
He wrote the piano accompaniments for the Charlier Etudes for trumpet, performed all around the world, edited by Balquhidder (California).
